Banco Santander S.A., a company registered with Banco de España under registration number 0049, with company headquarters at Santander, Paseo de Pereda, 9-12 and with the Tax ID Code CIF A-39000013 (hereinafter referred to as Banco Santander or the Owner) and the contact e-mail address of, is making the web page www, (hereinafter referred to as, the PORTAL) available to the public on the internet, free of charge.

The purpose of the PORTAL is to give information about developments, contents and events which will be carried out within the framework of the IV Universia International Rectors' Meeting, which will take place on 21 and 22 May, 2018 in the city of Salamanca, Spain.

Access, visit and/or use of the PORTAL is totally voluntary and those who do so shall be assigned the status of USER (hereinafter referred to as 'the USER', or in the plural, 'the USERS).

From the very moment that any USER accesses the PORTAL, simply by doing so, they fully accept the contents of this document as well as, where appropriate, the "Specific Terms and Conditions" which may supplement, replace or amend it in any way in relation to the services and contents of the PORTAL. Consequently, the USER must thoroughly read through both this document and any other of the Specific Terms and Conditions which could apply to the services provided through the PORTAL.

1. Objective and Amendment

Banco Santander gives USERS the ability to browse, thus accessing the PORTAL's contents and services provided they do so as specified in this document. In any case, Banco Santander reserves the right to, any time and without needing to give prior notice, amend or remove the content, structure, design, services and access and/or use conditions of the PORTAL, wherever it deems it fit to do so. In the event that this document is amended, the new version of the same will be applicable to the USERS immediately, regardless of whether or not they access the PORTAL or use its services through doing the same.

2. General Principles - User Responsibility

The USER undertakes to use the services and contents that the PORTAL provides in accordance with legislation in force, principles of good faith and generally accepted usages, and not to allow their actions via the Portals to infringe upon public order or that provided in this document. Thus, any use for unlawful purposes or that is to the detriment of or prevents, may damage and/or overload the usage and normal functioning of the PORTAL in any way, or which directly or indirectly causes damages to the same or any third party, is forbidden. In accordance with the national and international regulations on the protection of human rights, the USER will not use the services as a means through which to transmit any tools, utilities, assessments or comments from the PORTAL which impinge on persons' values and dignity. Likewise, the reproduction, distribution, transmission, adaptation or modification, by any means and in any way, of the PORTAL's contents (text, designs, graphic material, information, databases, sound and/or image files, logos, etc.) and other items on these sites, are prohibited, unless prior consent has been granted by the legitimate owners or when this proves to permitted by law.

3. Conditions which must be fulfilled by users wishing to create a hyperlink between their web page and the PORTAL

It is not allowed to reproduce the pages of the PORTAL by means of a hyperlink from another portal or web page, only allowing access thereto. Under no circumstance shall it be implied that Banco Santander authorises the hyperlink or that it has supervised or in any way approved the services or contents provided by the web page where the hyperlink is produced. No false, incorrect or inaccurate expressions or references shall be made about the PORTAL's pages and services. The page from which the hyperlink is established can have no distinguishing feature which refers to the PORTAL, except for the signs integrated into the hyperlink itself. It is explicitly prohibited to create any type of browser or border environment about the PORTAL's pages. No content contrary to the rights of third parties, nor contrary to accepted moral and good customs, nor unlawful information will be able to be included in the web page from which the hyperlink is established. The existence of a hyperlink between a web page and the PORTAL does not imply the existence of relations between Banco Santander and the owner of that page, nor the acceptance and approval of its contents and services.

4. USER responsibilities

The USER will be the only party responsible for using the Portal and for complying with all that is established in this document. Any breach of the contents in this document may give rise to the corresponding civil or criminal extrajudicial or judicial proceedings against the USER, who must indemnify Banco Santander in the face of any claims, lawsuits damages and losses that may be undergone as a result of such a breach.

5. Warranty and Liability Disclaimer

Banco Santander does not guarantee, nor does it take any responsibility for, in any event and under any circumstances, the following events and contents, or for any damages that may arise from the same:

(I)Lack of availability, continuity, access, maintenance and effective operation of the PORTAL and/or of its services and updating, accuracy, exhaustivity, relevance, current status and reliability of its contents, irrespective of the cause and the technical difficulties or problems or other difficulties or problems arising from these events.

(II)The transmission and/or existence of viruses, other items or programmes harmful to the equipment of Users which could affect them as a result of access to, usage or examination of the site, or that lead to alterations of their electronic documents or files.

(III)Use of the PORTAL or its services and contents which is unlawful, negligent, fraudulent or which impersonates a third person or is contrary to these general conditions, to good faith, to the generally permitted uses or to public order, by USERS.

(IV)Violations or breaches of the laws, uses or customs in force regarding intellectual property, industrial property, trade or contractual secrets, privacy, honour, image, property, advertising or competition rights, among others, of any third parties.

(V)Flaws or defects in the contents and/or services accessed via the PORTAL.

(VI)The reception, storage, collection, dissemination or transmission of the PORTAL's contents by USERS.

(VII)Knowledge of any information regarding the characteristics and circumstances of the use of the PORTAL's contents and services by USERS that unauthorised third parties may possess or use.

The preceding list is for information purposes only, and none of its points are under any circumstances exclusive or excluding. In all cases, BANCO SANTANDER IS EXCLUDED FROM ANY LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES AND LOSSES OF ANY KIND DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY DERIVED FROM THE SAME AND FROM ANY OTHER UNSPECIFIED SIMILAR CHARACTERISTICS.

6. Intellectual and Industrial property rights

The texts, designs, images, databases, logos, structure, brands and other elements of the PORTAL are protected by international laws and treaties on intellectual and industrial property. Any reproduction, transmission, adaptation, translation or modification, communication to the public, or any other use of all or part of this site, carried out by any means and in any way, whether electronic, mechanic or otherwise, are strictly prohibited, unless prior consent has been given in writing by Banco Santander. Any breach of these rights may lead to the corresponding extrajudicial or civil or criminal proceedings. Banco Santander concedes no use licence or authorisation of any kind over its intellectual and industrial property rights, or over any other property or right related to the PORTAL, the services or contents of the same. Third parties are exclusively responsible for the legitimacy of the intellectual or industrial property rights corresponding to the contents they add. For the purpose of preserving possible intellectual property rights, in the event that any USER or a third party deems that their legitimate rights have been breached by the introduction of certain contents on the PORTAL, they must notify Banco Santander, Santander Universities of said circumstance in writing, by sending it to the address of Avda. de Cantabria s/n, 28660 Boadilla del Monte, Madrid, Spain or to the e-mail address:, indicating:

(I)Personal data identifying the interested holder of the allegedly breached rights.

(II)If the claim is submitted by a third party other than the interested party, they must indicate the representation in which they act.

(III)Indication of the contents protected by intellectual property rights and its location on the Portals.

(IV)Certification of the existence, ownership and validity of the cited intellectual property rights.

(V)Express declaration in which the interested party takes responsibility for the truth of the details and information provided in the notification to which this point refers.

7. Applicable legislation and jurisdiction.

These general conditions will be governed by Spanish law. For all questions which may arise or actions which may be carried out and which are derived from Banco Santander's management of the PORTAL, and regarding the interpretation, application, compliance or breach of that which is established herein, and the USER, by expressly waiving any other jurisdiction which may correspond to them, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts and Tribunals of the city of Madrid.
